About the Journal

Focus and Scope

INTEK Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal managed by Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang, published twice a year, in April and October. The journal has been indexed in several national and international databases. INTEK serves as a platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to publish and disseminate research findings in the field of applied engineering and technology, with a particular emphasis on issues and innovations relevant to tropical regions.

The journal’s scope covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and computer engineering. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, renewable energy systems, smart and sustainable materials, automation and control, computational modeling, industrial technology innovation, environmental engineering, and information and communication technology applications.

INTEK Journal encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates engineering principles with emerging technologies to address real-world challenges, particularly those affecting tropical and developing regions.

History

INTEK Journal began its first online publication in April 2016. During the initial publication period (2016–2019), the journal used Bahasa Indonesia as the primary language. Starting from the 2020 edition, the journal transitioned to English to reach a broader international readership.

In the issue of October 2025, the journal introduced a new article template to improve the quality and consistency of published manuscripts. The implementation of this updated format aligns with the journal’s continuous efforts to enhance its editorial standards and visibility.

Peer Review Process

Each submission will be reviewed by two reviewers in a doble-blind review process.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy

Since 2019, INTEK Journal has implemented an Article Processing Charge (APC) policy. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication are required to pay an APC of IDR 700,000 to support the costs associated with editorial handling, peer review, and online publication.

The APC must be paid by the author, and proof of payment should be sent via WhatsApp to: +62 852-4120-4400.
