Content Analysis and Identification of functional groups of flavonoid compounds from Chloroform Extract of Akar Bulu leaf (Merremia vitifolia)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Akar Bulu (Merremia vitifolia) is one of the plants used by some people in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province as an antidiabetic drug. One of the active compounds contained in the Merremia vitifolia plant is a flavonoid. Flavonoid compounds in Merremia vitifolia leaves can dissolve well in chloroform. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels and functional groups of flavonoid compounds from Akar Bulu (Merremia vitifolia) leaf chloroform extract. The method in this study was through sample preparation, maceration using 96% ethanol, thickening process using a rotary evaporator, liquid-liquid extraction using chloroform, then testing the levels using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with quercetin as a standard solution, and identification of functional groups using FTIR. The results obtained flavonoid levels of 0.01375%, and functional groups that indicate flavonoid compounds are O-H, C-H aromatic, C-H aliphatic, C = O, C = C aromatic, C-O-C, and C-O alcohol.
