Abstrak

This Community Service Program was carried out to support food and economic self-sufficiency at Pondok Pesantren MAQ Sulsel through the implementation of a smart broiler chicken coop based on the appropriate technology. The activities began with identifying partner needs and designing the coop using modern manufacturing principles. This was followed by the construction of the coop and the installation systems, including temperature control, feeders, and drinking systems. The program also included training for students on coop operation, biosecurity practices, digital production recording, and the preparation of strategies for improving livestock production. As an initial trial, the first production cycle with 30 chickens was conducted to ensure that the system functioned optimally and could be directly evaluated. The results showed that the smart coop operated effectively, students acquired new skills in modern appropriate technology -based poultry farming, and the pesantren developed strategies for subsequent production cycles. In addition to providing tangible benefits for food self-sufficiency, this program also served as a practical learning medium for appropriate technology. The partner expressed high appreciation for the program, as it not only fulfilled internal consumption needs but also equipped students with modern technological skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and readiness to face future economic challenges.
