Abstrak

A technology transfer initiative was designed to enhance the productivity and quality of swiflet farm (edible bird’s nest) by introducing an automatic condenser device to regulate temperature and humidity within the farming environment. The program was implemented in collaboration with a partner located in Desa Lappa Anging, Kelurahan Watang Bacukiki, Kecamatan Bacukiki, Kota Parepare, where challenges had been identified in maintaining optimal microclimatic stability within the swiftlet house. The implementation process commenced with coordination meetings involving key stakeholders, followed by the formal launch of collaboration attended by representatives of the Parepare City Government, the partner, and the academic research team. Program activities included field assessments, equipment handover, awareness sessions, technical demonstrations, and the installation of the condenser device, with active engagement from lecturers and students. The findings show that the condenser was successfully installed and functioned effectively in creating a stable environment conducive to swiftlet cultivation. The partner demonstrated consistent involvement throughout the program, while student participation facilitated the integration of academic learning with practical experience. Overall, the program effectively promoted technology transfer from higher education institutions to the community, while strengthening collaborative linkages among academia, local government, and business actors.
