PENERAPAN SUMUR RESAPAN SEBAGAI SOLUSI GENANGAN AIR DI PERMUKIMAN PADAT PAREPARE
Abstrak
Densely populated settlements in Parepare City experience recurring waterlogging during the rainy season, primarily due to inadequate drainage systems, extensive land conversion that limits natural infiltration, and low public awareness of sustainable rainwater management. These issues disrupt daily life, damage infrastructure, and heighten the risk of waterborne and vector-related diseases. This community service program introduces infiltration wells as a practical and environmentally friendly solution to mitigate waterlogging in urban neighborhoods. The approach not only promotes groundwater recharge but also empowers residents through participatory environmental management and education. Key activities include identifying flood-prone areas, conducting awareness campaigns on the benefits of infiltration wells, providing hands-on training for their construction, and developing pilot wells at strategic locations. Collaboration between the implementing team, local government, and community members ensures long-term sustainability. The outcomes achieved includeo: (1) constructing at least five functional infiltration wells, (2) developing training modules and technical guidelines for replication, (3) increasing community knowledge and awareness of water conservation and flood mitigation, and (4) fostering ongoing partnerships for environmental management. Through these integrated efforts, the initiative not only addresses immediate flooding issues but also strengthens community resilience and capacity for sustainable urban rainwater management.Unduhan
