TINJAUAN KINERJA HIDRAULIK BANGUNAN PEREDAM ENERGI PADA SALURAN PEMBUANG DI PLTU PUNAGAYA JENEPONTO
Abstrak
The surface discharge of thermal effluent from power plants into water bodies would result in harmfulimpacts on aquatic ecosystems. To reduce the negative impacts on water body due to the high discharge velocities,surface discharge needs to be equipped with dissipation structure that reduces the flow kinetic energy. In this study, themomentum and energy principles are used to derive an equation that expresses hydraulic jump, associated specificenergy and force-momentum. Review of dissipation structure performance in this paper can be used to determine thestandardized designs of stilling basin. Result shows that with Froude number of 3.13, each irregular oscillation producesa large wave which may travel to downstream. It was proposed to use the USBR Type IV with an angel of 10° related tothe axis for diminishing the effect of oscillating jumps. This dissipation structure has succeeded to reduce the flowkinetic energy into water body.Referensi
