BENTUK RAGAM HIAS (ORNAMEN) PADA DESAIN INTERIOR DAN EKSTERIOR MESJID-MESJID BESAR DI SAMARINDA, KALIMANTAN TIMUR

Abstract

Samarinda, one of the cities in East Kalimantan is a city that has a long history of the development ofacculturation in Islamic culture. The purpose of this study is expected to find traces of the influence of Islamic art cultureas a design style through a variety of ornaments on the interior and exterior of mosques in Samarinda. It is also hopedthat through this research will be produced a comprehensive catalog of mosque ornaments, so that development anddesign innovation can be carried out. The benefits of this study are expected to encourage business people to develop avariety of ornaments for a typical mosque in Samarinda. This research method is to do documentation through direct andindirect observations, both interviews, artifact studies and documentation on mosques classified according to theadministrative area map in Samarinda City. The results of the study found that the ornaments of the mosque wasinfluenced by the style of Islamic art that developed during the Ottoman Turks, and were widely used include intricate,arabesque, floral and Islamic calligraphy .
