PEMANFAATAN MOBILE APPLICATION UNTUK MELESTARIKAN HURUF LONTARA

Abstract

This study aims to design a mobile application about lontara script that can be used by the community as amedium to preserve lontara letters, as well as learning media for school-age children to recognize lontara script and canbe an alternative choice of learning models that can be used by teacher’s regional language at school to be able toincrease students' interest in learning lontara script. The results of this study are a mobile application of Lontara scriptthat can revive the interest and love of the community and the young generation to re-learn one of our cultural heritage,especially the lontara, to maintain its sustainability. By using a mobile application, it can be more efficiently becausemodern times today almost all people, both children and adults, use smartphones to learn or play.
