Abstract

The lightning rod in the Laboratory of Energy & Protection Distribution System of the Ujung Pandang State Polytechnicis not functioning properly so the value of resistance prisoners tends to be large, this is not good for grounding. Thisproblem can be overcome by rebuilding lightning rods on wet soil and dry soil. This activity is carried out to minimizethe value of resistance in relation to it, this activity is carried out by designing, assembling and collecting data carried outby testing, while data analysis is done by counting. Based on the results of the discussion it was concluded that the valueof resistance resistance obtained was smaller than the previous tool. It is proven by the results of testing where the valueof the resistance on the rod electrode in dry conditions is in the range of 1.56 - 2.40 Ohm while in the previous tool itranges from 1.6 - 9.0 Ohm. Then for wet soil conditions which range from 0.45 - 1.29 Ohm while in the previous tool, itranges from 1.8 - 5.25 Ohm.
