Abstract

This research aims to study the strong press concrete and strong different press concrete using using the sand
zone I, zone II and zone IV. As for the benefits of research on society is able to provide the insight of the use of sand on
the concrete mix with respect to sand-grain roughness/smoothness. Gradation of the sand has a roughness/smoothness of
different grains. Based on the large grain of sand (roughness/smoothness) divided in 4 groups of zones, namely sand
zone I who has the rough, granular zone II sand with little rough, granular zone III sand with the grain a bit smoother,
and zone IV is the sand with the grain smooth. So based on the sand zone created in 3 variants, namely concrete mix
concrete mix that uses sand zone I, using concrete sand zone II, and concrete which uses sand zone IV. The results
strongly press the average concrete which uses sand zone I is 28.26 MPa, for the sand zone II was 27.61 MPa, and to
sand zone IV is 25.81 MPa. Comparison of strong concrete that use press the sand Zone I against the concrete with sand
and concrete zone II yona IV is 94.4% and 91.3%. Thus based on explanation above then mix concrete using coarse grit
will generate strong press value greater than with the use of concrete mix sand with fine granules.
