Abstract


The potential of renewable energy resources has been investigated to fulfil energy demand around the world. Indonesian
government regulates to maximize the penetration renewable energy sources as the sustainable and clean energy into the
system. The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential of wind energy in the rooftop of electrical engineering
building of campus 2 State Polytechnic Ujung Pandang. The measurement of wind speed is in the 12 meter from the
ground on the rooftop building and the average wind speed is 3 m/s. Based on the data, the recommended wind turbine
is a low speed wind turbine. The average power can be produced with the average speed is only 41 Watt.
