PELATIHAN PENGEMBANGAN METODE PENGAJARAN DI SMPN 24 TOMPO BULU KABUPATEN MAROS

Abstract


The Initial collected information indicated that the junior high school teachers of Tompo Bulu, Maros Regency,
Indonesia particularly its English lecturers have problems in meeting various needs of learners. The head and the teachers
of the school admitted that the teachers found it difficult to identify the types of teaching approaches the students prefer.
Based on the information, we, the PNUP community service team, and the school head and the English teachers, decided
to solve the problems by conducting training activities on developing teaching approaches. The activities involved 18
teachers. Finally, data from the participants’ feedbacks were collected both in the initial and post phase of the training
activities by employing two sets of questioners. The contents of the questioners were similar. Next, the descriptive
analysis was used to calculate the increase of ability level of the participants after participating in the activities. The
evaluation analysis revealed that their ability in developing their teaching approach or method increased by 24%; from
40% to 64%.
