Abstract


The community service purposes to improve environmental sanitation and hygiene in production process of
white fermented rice cake (brem in Bahasa) at Mekarsari Small Medium Enterprises (SME) and to have a hygiene and
aesthetic packaging for their products. Factors that cause illness or health problems can be controlled by improving
sanitation hygiene. They are expected, SME Mekarsari produces a good and safe quality brem,. It will give a high value
to the brem products. Furthermore, market demand increases and it impact to improve the people's economy. The
community service program resulted that environmental sanitation and hygiene of brem production process at Mekarsari
SME increases. SME has an aestethic and hygiene packaging design for their products. However, we could not inform of
the impact on productivity and profitability obtained by this SME yet.
