MENABUNG AIR HUJAN UNTUK KETERSEDIAAN AIRTANAH MELALUI LUBANG RESAPAN BIOPORI (LRB)

Abstract

The condition of groundwater in Makassar City is already in a poor condition, because overexploitation has caused a
decrease in groundwater level which results in land subsidence, seawater intrusion and deterioration of ground water
quality. To maintain the availability of ground water, efforts can be made to save rainwater for recharging groundwater
by making biopore infiltration holes. The objectives of the science and technology program for the community (IbM) are
that the groundwater crisis that occurred in Parang sub-district Mamajang sub-district of Makassar can be overcome and
its long-term target is to encourage the Makassar City Government to make a Perda on obligations for the Makassar
people to make infiltration holes biopori in his yard, especially new buildings. The method that will be used in this
activity is in the form of counseling for the community in RW 04, Parang Village, Mamajang District, Makassar City
about the dangers of groundwater crisis, how to make biopori infiltration holes and demonstration of making in 1
community home. Before counseling and demonstration on how to make a biopori infiltration hole, the level of
knowledge of participants was only 22.22% and increased to 77.8% after counseling and demonstration with a value
above 6, and a skill level above 60% of the total participants.
