Abstract

Every material including dust can be considered as an electrically charged particle that will have attractive
properties with other particles that are different in charge and will refuse with other particles of similar charge. This study
aims to design an electrostatic dust settling device and determine the mass value that settles on each type of dust used.
Where on this dust if it passes through a plate that has been given a different electric charge that is between negative and
positive, the dust passing around the plate will be pulled by the plate if the charge is different and will refuse if the charge
is similar. The results of the test obtained the mass value of the dust deposited on the copper plate (filter) with a voltage
of 8 KV, with a filter distance of 2 cm with a vertical model in which coal dust obtained a precipitation value of 23.1
grams, soil of 23.2 gram, and cement is 13.1 grams.
