Abstract


The lightning rod in the Laboratory of Energy & Protection Distribution System of the Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic
is not functioning properly so the value of resistance prisoners tends to be large, this is not good for grounding. This
problem can be overcome by rebuilding lightning rods on wet soil and dry soil. This activity is carried out to minimize
the value of resistance in relation to it, this activity is carried out by designing, assembling and collecting data carried out
by testing, while data analysis is done by counting. Based on the results of the discussion it was concluded that the value
of resistance resistance obtained was smaller than the previous tool. It is proven by the results of testing where the value
of the resistance on the rod electrode in dry conditions is in the range of 1.56 - 2.40 Ohm while in the previous tool it
ranges from 1.6 - 9.0 Ohm. Then for wet soil conditions which range from 0.45 - 1.29 Ohm while in the previous tool, it
ranges from 1.8 - 5.25 Ohm.
