PENGEMBANGAN TEKNOLOGI PEMBELAJARAN SISTEM MANUFAKTUR FLEKSIBEL DENGAN INTEGRASI PERANGKAT LUNAK SIMULASI

Abstract


In the higher education curriculum (KPT), flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is the name of a specialized
course in manufacturing engineering study program. With the code 443P1761212 this course is presented in 6th semester
with 2 credits. This course is ideally the subject of theory and practice but due to the not availability of the FMS machine
in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang (PNUP), this subject presented as theory
course. Learning objectives of the FMS are students able to analyze the needs of the manufacturing industry to improve
productivity and able to design the implementation of FMS, from product design, process design, process automation,
flexible manufacturing, cellular manufacturing, reconfigurable manufacturing, lean manufacturing, computer integrated
manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing. Regarding to the not availability of the FMS, learning objectives and
learning outcomes that have been set on the KPT curriculum will not be achieved entirely. The development of FMS
learning technology with the integration of simulation software is intended to replace some of the FMS device functions
virtually. With the development of current manufacturing simulation software, it is possible to create FMS modelling and
simulation with graphical displays that are sufficiently compact and good enough to provide simulations of all engines,
conveyors, vehicles, robotic arms and their interactions as in actual FMS device.
The output of this research will be the availability of a set of learning technology with the integration of
simulation software. This learning technology consists of FMS modelling and simulation software, manuals of simulation
software and some teaching material modules in the form of problem solving of flexible manufacturing systems
