KUAT TEKAN DAN LENTUR BETON MENGGUNAKAN TERAK NIKEL SEBAGAI AGREGAT KASAR

Abstract


Currently civil engineering construction particularly concrete structures in the area of building and water
resources especially in developing regions where much concrete is used. Compressive strength of concrete is usually
expected to meet commonly specified concrete quality K-250 for buildings and K-300 for district roads. This research
aims at determining the characteristics of nickel slag as substitute of coarse aggregate and design characteric
compressive strength K-300 whether achievable or not. Then, concrete mix design was carried out to determine
composition of concrete materials and make  15-30 cm cylindrical concrete sample for characteristic compressive
strength. The results showed characteristics of nickel slag as a good substitute of coarse aggregate for concrete materials.
Characteristic compressive strength of concrete was 330,14 kg/cm² ˃ specified concrete quality K-300 (300 kg/cm²),
while flexural strength 4,22 N/mm² (42,2 kg/cm²), 12,78 % of characteristic compressive strength. This result showed
that the nickel slag could be used as concrete aggregate and recommended that its grain size meets crushed natural
aggregate.
