Abstract

Concrete materials are increasingly used in civil engineering construction especially in building construction
today. The concrete materials usually taken from various sources in terms of the type and quarry of materials must
entirely meet their specified standards. For the purpose of the feasibility study, the fine aggregate such as sand was
obtained from Maulu River and the coarse aggregate such as gravel was obtained from crushed white mountain rocks.
The method used in the study is to test the properties of the materials including fine and coarse aggregates. Research
methodology in this study was Mix Design using the DOE method with K-300 concrete compressive strength resulting
from cylindrical Ø15-30cm concrete sample and beam 100 mm x100 mm x400 mm concrete sample to obtain average
flexural strength. Meanwhile, the concrete construction work generally requires K-250 concrete quality for building
constructions and K-300 concrete quality for road constructions. The results showed good quality of aggregate as
concrete materials for their compressive and flexural strengths based on their target quality. The physical characteristics
of the fine aggregates include water content of 4.88%, sludge content passed # 200 of 4.20%, weight volume of 1.31 kg
/lt, specific specific gravity of 2.38, absorption of 3.34%, modulus of fineness of 7.69 and organic content No. 3.
Furthermore, the characteristics of the coarse aggregate are water content of 0.37%, sludge content passed # 200 of
3.36%, volume weight of 1.41 kl / lt, specific density of 2.54, absorption of 3, 34%, smoothness modulus of 7.69 and
abration modulus of 25.33%.
