Abstract

Waste is a global problem, also experienced by Sengguruh Village in Malang Regency. Pollution from the Sengguruh Dam, annually around 2.5 million m³ of sediment, domestic waste production of 1.2 tons per day, the majority of which is disposed of in the final disposal site . The Sengguruh Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) has significant potential to develop sustainable waste management, but faces obstacles such as limited management systems, low business plan development skills, and minimal community participation. This Community Service Program aims to increase the capacity of BUMDes through participatory business plan development training with a circular economy approach. The implementation method includes analysis of existing conditions, module development, training, and implementation assistance. The results of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) need synergy between the Waste Bank and BUMDes to develop businesses, such as the production of compost fertilizer and creative waste-based products. The participatory approach involves the community, including product branding ideas. This program is expected to establish the Kertojoyo Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in Sengguruh Village as a model for waste management based on technological innovation and a circular economy, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
