Abstract

This community service program aims to address the main problem faced by the partner group, namely the absence of a technology-based agricultural land monitoring system. This condition has a direct impact on the low effectiveness of decision-making in land management, particularly in determining irrigation schedules, fertilization, and harvesting, which have traditionally relied on experience and manual estimation. To address this issue, the program developed and implemented an Internet of Things (IoT)-based land monitoring system. The system consists of soil moisture and temperature sensors installed directly in the agricultural fields and connected to a mobile application-based dashboard that can be accessed by farmers in real time. Through this system, farmers are able to periodically monitor land conditions remotely without having to be physically present in the field, enabling faster, more accurate, and data-driven decisionmaking. The community service activities were conducted with 24 members of the Kayummanaka Farmer Group in Bantaeng Regency through stages of socialization, training, and hands-on assistance in using the system. The evaluation results, obtained through participatory and observational approaches, indicate that the participants’ level of understanding reached 88.9%, suggesting that IoT technology was well accepted by the community.
