PROGRAM KEMITRAAN MASYARAKAT (PKM) SOSIALISASI DAN IMPLEMENTASI DESAIN STRUKTUR PERKUATAN LERENG SISI JALAN PADA DESA MAJANNANGMANIMBAHOI, KAB. GOWA
Abstract
The main challenge concerning Majannang-Manimbahoi Village, Parigi Subdistrict, Gowa City is the instability of the slopes adjacent to the village road, which poses a risk of landslides, particularly during the rainy season. These slopes are prone to erosion and small landslides as a result of excessive surface runoff. This situation significantly impedes the community's everyday operations, particularly regarding transportation, agricultural product distribution, and access to educational and healthcare services. Strategies to resolve this issue have thus far been temporarily and ineffective, such as manually filling, and there exist no technical standards or slope reinforcement designs suitable for local conditions. The aim of this community service initiative is to deliver technical and educational solutions via socializing, training, and the execution of standard slope reinforcement structures utilizing suitable technology. The community will be equipped to comprehend geotechnical hazards and educated in the design and construction of reinforcing structures utilizing local resources. The outputs of this activity include identifying landslide-prone areas, increasing community awareness and skills related to slope instability management through outreach activities, and producing a prototype reinforcement structure in the form of a gravity retaining wall that effectively prevents erosion and small landslides.Downloads
