Abstract

The Initial collected information indicated that the English teachers in two schools; Elementary School 79 Mambue and Islamic Senior High Schools have problems in meeting the learning needs of learners. Based on the information, we, the PNUP community service team, the school heads and the English teachers of the two schools, decided to solve the problems by conducting training activities on how to implement a needs analysis in developing English for tourism. The activities involved 20 teachers namely 10 teachers from the elementary and 10 from the senior high schools. Finally, data from the participants’ feedbacks were collected before and after the training using two sets of questioners. The contents of the questioners were similar. Next, the descriptive analysis was used to calculate the increase of ability level of the participants after participating in the activities. The evaluation analysis revealed that their ability in implementing the needs analysis increased by 40%; from 40% to 80%. Keywords: Implementing needs analysis, developing teaching and learning
