Abstract

Traffic accidents remain a significant public concern in Makassar City, particularly among high school students who are highly vulnerable to road incidents. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aimed to enhance students’ awareness and knowledge of traffic safety through an interactive and research-based educational approach. The program was carried out at SMA Negeri 21 Makassar in collaboration with the Makassar Transportation Agency, the City Police, and PT. Jasa Raharja. The implementation method consisted of several stages: initial coordination and field survey, preparation of educational modules and media validated by partners, and interactive socialization activities at the school. The socialization included presentations, educational videos, discussions, quizzes, and traffic simulations. A total of 100 participants, including students and teachers, actively engaged in the activities. The results indicated that the interactive methods significantly improved participants’ enthusiasm and understanding of safe driving behavior. Moreover, the program provided project-based learning experiences for students and strengthened the synergy between higher education institutions and local government in fostering a culture of traffic safety.
