PEMODELAN DAN SIMULASI APLIKASI SUPERCAPACITOR PADA SISTEM PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA BAYU

Abstract


The needs of renewable energy sources are inevitable to be increase from time to time due to global warming
issue and pollutions from conventional based power stations. However, the lateness progress of renewable energy based
power stations in dominating worldwide total power stations is caused by the renewable energy’s technology rather
expensive and some are still immature. For wind turbine itself, when connecting to the grid, it must obey the regulation
particularly when it disturbed by grid fault that might violate the grid code itself. Consequently, the wind turbine must
be disconnected from the grid which in turn leads to high economic lost. This paper is aimed to design and simulate the
compensator for Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) which is connected to the grid using Supercapacitor (SC). SC is
controlled with Hysteresis Current Controller (HCC) and Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). This system is modeled using
MATLAB. The simulation results show that voltage profile at Point of Common Coupling (PCC) is corrected above the
selected Fault Ride Through (FRT) which is in turn avoiding the WTG disconnected from the grid
