STUDI PENGGUNAAN CORNIVE ADSHIVE SEBAGAI FILLER CAMPURAN ASPHALT CONCRETE WEARING COURS (AC-WC)

Abstract


Laston (Layer of asphalt concrete) is a mixture result product among coarse aggregate, refined aggregate as
well as filler and hard asphalt at certain temperature then it is spread and crushed at certain temperature. The
characteristic of asphalt mixture AC-WC is the use of continued aggregate gradation. One of the obstacles found in the
use of this kind of aspalt product is the supply of filler material as a mixture filler. The filler which usually used is fly
ash originated from the crusher, but sometimes it is required to add PC cement or lime since it has allowed at sieve no
200 which lack of the requirements. The research used Cornice Adhesive as a filler material by the variation 20%, 40%,
60%, 80%, 100% where at the previous observation it is shown that conice adhesive is non plastic material, does not
contain organics and fulfill the filler requirements no 200 as much 97.5%. The method used in this research is Marshall
test which aims to find out the characteristics and works of AC WC mixture. The results show that characteristics value
of AC WC (VIM ,VMA) generally reveals the increasing quality while (VFB, FLOW) experiences reduction at
changing/adding Cornice adhesive in the mixture. It is also used as substitution of fly ash for the AC WC mixture
especially for the value of stability at 40 % maximum percentage from the needs total filler.
