UJI KINERJA ALAT DESTILASI DENGAN VARIASI TEMPERATUR KOLOM UNTUK PEMURNIAN BIOETANOL BERBASIS NIRA SORGUM MANIS

Abstract


Fermentation of sweet sorghum through engineering-BioProcess batch, in a laboratory-scale has been
examined in previous research, the concentration of the resulting bioetanol in range 9-11%. Bioetanol fermented juice of
sweet sorghum can be distilled using distillation tool. This research aims to test the performance of the tools of
distillation. The specific purpose of this research was to determine the optimum temperature of distillation columns,
against bietanol volume using the juice of sweet sorghum, determines rendemen bioetanol and determining yield
bioetanol. The research method through 3 (three) stages is the production stage of sorghum sauce obtained from the
pressed sweet sorghum staple, the fermentation stage of sweet sorghum juice 16 Brix using batch biochemical
engineering system, and purification stage of bioethanol carried out on the distillation device built in this research . The
result of the research shows that the temperature of 87OC column can produce 13% bioethanol by 1368 ml for
fermentation process of engine batch system, with yield of 5.9% and yield of 9.8%.
