RANCANG BANGUN APLIKASI ABSENSI PEGAWAI KPU KOTA MAKASSAR BERBASIS ANDROID

Abstract

An attendance system is a crucial element in managing attendance, whether in academic or corporate environments. This process aims not only to ensure the presence of employees and staff but also to enhance efficiency and accuracy in handling attendance data. The General Elections Commission (KPU), as the body responsible for organizing general elections, has an urgent need for an efficient attendance system for its personnel. However, current attendance tracking at the KPU relies on fingerprint scanning, which limits location flexibility. To address this, developing an Android-based mobile application appears to be the right solution. Such an application would allow KPU employees and staff to record their attendance electronically using their own smartphones. The attendance application was successfully developed using the waterfall methodology, featuring a secure login system, location and facial verification, database integration, and automated attendance reports for administrators. The implementation of geofencing enables precise measurement of staff and employee attendance locations based on distance, time, and speed parameters. The application passed functionality testing with a validation rate of 92.5% (Excellent). Questionnaire-based testing involving 20 respondents also yielded excellent results regarding attractiveness (86.15%), usability (88.25%), and effectiveness (87%).
