Focus and Scope

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Applied Civil Engineering and Environment (JACEE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research in the fields of applied civil engineering and environmental science. The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers, practitioners, and academics to disseminate innovative ideas, cutting-edge technologies, and significant advancements that contribute to the development and sustainability of the built environment through applied scientific research.

Scope

JACEE invites original research articles, review papers, case studies, and technical notes that address a wide range of topics within applied civil engineering and environmental science. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Structural Engineering: Design, analysis, and construction of structures, including buildings, bridges, dams, and other infrastructure. Topics may include structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, materials science, and innovative construction methods.
  • Geotechnical Engineering: Studies related to soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, geotechnical modeling, and ground improvement techniques.
  • Transportation Engineering: Research on the planning, design, operation, and management of transportation systems. Topics may include traffic engineering, transportation planning, pavement engineering, and sustainable transportation solutions.
  • Water Resources Engineering: Exploration of water resource management, hydrology, hydrogeology, hydraulic engineering, and the design and analysis of water supply and drainage systems. The journal also welcomes studies on flood risk management, water quality modeling, and irrigation engineering.
  • Environmental Engineering: Investigations into pollution control, waste management, environmental impact assessment, sustainable development, and the application of environmental technologies to mitigate the effects of climate change.
  • Construction Management: Research on project management, construction economics, construction safety, and the integration of new technologies in construction processes, including building information modeling (BIM) and lean construction practices.
  • Materials Engineering: Studies focusing on the development and application of new materials in civil engineering, including sustainable construction materials, composite materials, and the recycling of construction waste.
  • Urban and Regional Planning: Research related to urban development, land use planning, smart cities, infrastructure planning, and sustainable urban design.
  • Environmental Science: Topics that address the interaction between civil engineering and environmental sustainability, including studies on environmental monitoring, renewable energy integration, and the ecological impact of civil engineering projects.

Objective

The primary objective of JACEE is to advance knowledge and innovation in applied civil engineering and environmental science by publishing original research that addresses current challenges and emerging trends in the field. The journal seeks to foster collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, and to contribute to the development of sustainable engineering practices that benefit society.

JACEE is committed to the dissemination of scholarly work that is rigorous, relevant, and accessible to a global audience. The journal encourages submissions from diverse geographic regions and promotes the exchange of ideas and knowledge across disciplinary boundaries.
